St. Charles Parish is working alongside LA Department of Transportation and Development to clear snow and ice from roads and restore access to main thoroughfares. The Hale Boggs Bridge is now open between LA 18 and LA 48 in both directions.
Below are the latest updates on operations in St. Charles Parish:
Offices and Programming
- Government Buildings and the Courthouse will reopen on Friday, January 24. Employees should report at their normally scheduled time.
- Recreation games on Friday and Saturday will occur as scheduled. Games from Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday have been rescheduled. Check www.scpparksandrec.com for new schedules.
- Prime Time Seniors programming is canceled for the rest of this week.
- St. Charles Parish Council on Aging will remain closed on Friday.
- 29th Judicial District Court will resume normal operations on Friday.
Garbage Collection
- To make up for missed collection days, River Birch will run the following schedule:
- For Monday/Thursday routes, trash will be collected on Friday, January 24.
- For Tuesday/Friday routes, trash will be collected on Saturday, January 25.
- For Wednesday/Saturday routes, trash will be collected on Sunday, January 26.
- Normal trash collection and routes will resume on Monday, January 27.
Road Closures
- The Hale Boggs Bridge is now open in both directions from LA 18 to LA 48.
- The Department of Public Works and LA DOTD are working with equipment on hand to clear the remainder of I-310 and other critical roads.
