Parish President Matthew Jewell and the St. Charles Parish Department of Waterworks are proud to announce a new customer text notification system offered through the department’s billing platform, Muni-Link.
As part of an ongoing commitment to strengthening communication between the department and the public, the texts will inform residents of important billing and service updates, such as account status, upcoming service disconnection, water interruptions, advisories, and other special circumstances.
“The new notification system is another step in our continuing efforts to modernize parish services and improve communication with our residents,” Parish President Matthew Jewell said. “These real-time alerts about billing, service, and other Waterworks business will make it easier for us to stay in touch and ensure that we continue to provide customer service that matches our award-winning water.”
If customers have a cellular number linked to their account, they will receive a text message from (985) 240-4428 displaying the following:
“SCP WATERWORKS: You have been subscribed to receive sms notifications. Reply YES to confirm. Reply STOP to opt-out or HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply; frequency varies. If you are no longer receiving utility service from St. Charles Parish, please disregard this message”
To enroll in text notifications, please reply “yes.”
If you do not have a cellular number listed on your account but would like to receive text messages, you must update this information by calling (985) 783-5110, emailing service@scpwater.org, or stopping in the office, located at 301 Third Street in Luling. Messages will be sent automatically to new phone numbers added to the site.
The new notification system is one of many recent significant upgrades to the St. Charles Parish Waterworks System. Through the continuation of the digital water meter installation project, new call center software, and a mobile app on its way, the Department of Waterworks is committed to improving every aspect of communication and service to allow for a better experience for every customer.
