Parish President Matthew Jewell and the St. Charles Parish Council accepted the low bid for the Des Allemands Boat Launch Construction on Monday, October 20, 2025. The boat launch will feature two launch bays, nearly 100 parking spaces, two pavilions with fish cleaning stations, two pavilions with bench swings, restrooms, and 200 feet of dock.
“This new boat launch has been long awaited by our fishermen and sportsmen across St. Charles Parish,” said Parish President Matthew Jewell. “I’d like to thank the St. Charles Parish Council and our parish staff for their hard work and commitment in bringing this project to this point.”
The boat launch will be built on land given to St. Charles Parish by Chevron U.S.A. in 2021 as part of a 108-acre donation. Louisiana CPRA and the RESTORE ACT allocated over $2 million for construction costs. This project also ties into the Lafourche Basin Levee District Sunset Levee Lift, which created the access road for the future boat launch.
Cycle Construction Company, LLC, was awarded the low bid of $4,989,859.00. Duplantis Design Group, PC designed the boat launch. Construction is expected to begin in January 2026 and last approximately one year.
