St. Charles Parish Forms America 250 Committee

Post Date:December 16, 2025 10:30 AM

Parish President Matthew Jewell is proud to announce the formation of the St. Charles Parish America 250 Committee, which will lead local efforts to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States in 2026. This committee will coordinate events, programs, and community celebrations highlighting our nation’s history.

“As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence— it’s important that our community comes together to honor the American story and the generations of citizens who helped shape this great country,” Parish President Matthew Jewell said. “Milestones like this remind us of the strength, courage, and shared values that have always defined the United States. We’re proud to plan events that inspire residents of all ages to celebrate our history and everything that continues to make America exceptional.”

The St. Charles Parish America 250 Committee will bring together representatives from local government, schools, civic organizations, local business and industry, and the community to plan meaningful ways to recognize this milestone. Planned efforts may include patriotic displays, educational programs, art and essay contests, and community initiatives. The committee’s final event will be our annual July 3rd Celebration with a larger patriotic fireworks display.
