St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation’s family-friendly Fish Dat Rodeo is back for the sixth consecutive year and will take place on Saturday, May 9, at the Bonnet Carre’ Spillway Lower Guide Levee Boat Launch. Anglers of all ages are invited to participate in the fishing tournament and compete to catch fish in the following categories: bass, bream, catfish, sac-a-lait and miscellaneous.
“The Fish Dat Rodeo continues to grow as a special tradition for our community,” said Parks and Recreation Director Duane Foret. “Our goal is to bring people together and create opportunities for all ages to enjoy fishing. Events like this give families and young anglers the chance to connect, enjoy the outdoors, and create lasting memories together.”
Competition begins at safe-light with weigh-in by 1 p.m. Food and fun will follow the weigh-in as awards and door prizes will follow. To be eligible for one of the grand prizes, an angler must weigh in a fish.
The Fish Dat Rodeo is open to all St. Charles Parish residents and legal Louisiana fishing licensed persons. A Louisiana fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older. All Louisiana fishing regulations apply.
