St. Charles Parish will celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary during its 36th Annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3, at the West Bank Bridge Park. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m., with festivities taking place from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., ending in a spectacular fireworks display at 9:00 p.m. 

This year’s celebration will feature live entertainment from The Electrix Band, who will keep the energy high throughout the evening. Guests can also enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including face painting, a caricature artist, and interactive photo booths located throughout the park. 

The event will begin with a patriotic opening ceremony featuring a local Boy Scout troop raising the American flag, followed by the National Anthem performed by Steven Fontenot of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office. 

Attendees can also enjoy an impressive lineup of local food truck vendors offering a wide variety of food and refreshments for purchase. This year’s vendors include Matt’s Sandwiches, Mangia Eats, Kay’s Angel Wings, The Table Cafe, MoFries, Jus Tacos, Malou’s Southern Eatery, Shenell’s, VFW Post 3750, Daretta’s, Fleur de Lemons, Sweet Joy Nola, and Taste of Nola on Wheels. 

I-310 southbound and northbound off- ramps to River Road (LA 18) will be closed 15 minutes before the fireworks and throughout the show, and River Road (LA 18) will be closed from Ashton Road to the School Board Office.  

Pets, glass bottles, confetti, and poppers are NOT allowed in West Bank Bridge Park. No alcohol will be sold at the event. Residents may bring their own ice chests and folding chairs. In addition, the State Fire Marshal ordered that no one be allowed to enter or leave the park up to 30 minutes before and after the fireworks show.  

The West Bank Bridge Park, including the parking lot near the levee, will be closed the afternoon of July 1st in anticipation of this event, and the public will NOT be allowed to use the bike path, drive or walk past barricades present near the levee during firework setup.
