Flood Map Information
Call 985.783.5060 for a floodplain manager if you have questions about flood risk, flood insurance, flood insurance rate maps, or how these affect the minimum building elevation for new construction or substantial improvement to existing buildings.
Staff can advise whether a property is or is not in a Special Flood Hazard Area and if so which flood zone and what the base flood elevation is.
St. Charles Parish is NFIP Community # 220160
- Effective Flood Insurance Rate Maps and study are dated June 16, 1992.
- Nine (9) map panels cover all the land in the Parish (Panels 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200,225, and 250)
- Three (3) of the nine (9) map panels we affected by a Letter of Map Revision dated May 2, 2003 (50, 125, 150)
- As the third (3rd ) maps the Parish Council has adopted, the map panels are identified with the suffix “C”.
- The flood insurance study and maps use the NGVD elevation datum.
