2026 Regional Household Hazardous Materials Collection Event

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2026
9 A.M. - 1 P.M.

Two Collection Sites will be open to residents of St. Charles and St. John the Baptist Parishes:

Edward A. Dufresne Community Center
274 Judge Dufresne Pkwy., Luling, LA 70070

St. John Community Center
2900 US-51, Laplace, LA 70068

 
The Following Household Hazardous Materials will be Accepted
and Properly Disposed or Recycled:

Oil-based Paint, Solvents, Tires (at the St. Charles Parish site ONLY, limit 5 per vehicle), Automotive Batteries, Used Oil, Antifreeze, Household Cleaning Products, Aerosol Cans, Acids/Bases, Fluorescent Tubes, Tars, Resins, Adhesives, Pesticides, Herbicides, Scrap Metal and Major Appliances, and Used Electronics, such as Used Computers, Copiers, Printers, Radios, TVs and other Electronic Devices.

 

Please DO NOT Bring the Following Non-hazardous Items:

Paper, Cardboard, Aluminum Cans, Plastic and Glass. Please, NO CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS (municipal waste).

 
Please DO NOT Bring the Following Items:

Latex Paint, Explosives, Ammunition, Unidentifiable Materials, Infectious Waste (medical), Compressed Gas Cylinders (including propane tanks), Asbestos, Radioactive Wastes (smoke alarms), Lab Wastes and Commercial/Governmental Facility Waste, even if the facility is at home.

 

This event is designed for collection and disposal of residential hazardous wastes. Please do not bring wastes from commercial facilities.
