Introduction
The St. Charles Parish America 250 Committee will bring together representatives from local government, schools, civic organizations, local business and industry, and the community to plan meaningful ways to recognize this milestone. Planned efforts may include patriotic displays, educational programs, art and essay contests, and community initiatives. The committee’s final event will be our annual July 3rd Celebration with a larger patriotic fireworks display.

Whether you're a seasoned runner aiming for a personal best or a casual walker soaking in the scenery, this family-friendly 5K offers stunning views, a lively post race party, and a chance to make a difference. The St. Charles Parish America 250 Committee invites the community to a special evening of music, history, and patriotic pride as part of our local celebrations for America’s 250th Anniversary. The commemorative concert will feature a set by the world-renowned Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at the Dr. Rodney R. Lafon Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The event’s title sponsors are Dow, IMTT, Shell, and Valero. Additional support has been provided by Louisiana’s River Parishes Tourist Commission and America 250 Louisiana Commission.
The family-friendly performance will include patriotic favorites, American classics, and historical readings that honor our nation’s past, celebrate our present, and look forward with hope to our future. Tickets cost $25 each and are available for purchase online here. There will be only one performance of this concert, so families are encouraged to secure their tickets early.
